Blade Runner: Black Lotus (2021)

Trivia

Blade Runner: Black Lotus

Edit
This series takes place in 2032, in the aftermath of Blade Runner: Black Out 2022 (2017).
Two characters from Blade Runner 2049 (2017) appear in this series, both 17 years younger than they were in the film. Barkhad Abdi (Doc Badger) is the only cast member from the film duology to reprise his role for this series, while Wes Bentley takes over the role of Niander Wallace Jr. from Jared Leto. Concept art in the book "The Art of Blade Runner: Black Lotus" shows illustrations based on Leto, but in the end the animators were not able to use his likeness for the series.
Many props and locations from the original Blade Runner movie are seen in this animated version of a story arc in the blade runner universe.
Each episode premiered on Adult Swim in an English dub and simultaneously on the streaming platform Crunchyroll in Japanese.
Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Brian Cox recorded his lines as Niander Wallace Sr. in a closet at home.
