Trivia

Mortal Kombat 11

Edit
Mortal Kombat 11 features Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa reprising his role as Shang Tsung as portrayed in the 1995 film based on the series.

However, Tagawa was not cast in the role until later in the game's development cycle. Because the character would feature not only Tagawa's voice acting talents, but also his physical likeness, several changes had to be made to the game. Shang Tsung was removed from the main roster of fighters so that he could later be added as a DLC (Downloadable Content) character with the updated likeness. This also caused a significant portion of the game's story to be altered, and Shang Tsung's part in the plot was removed.
Johnny Cage can be unlocked as the announcer voice by reaching the top 10% in the Towers of Time. If he is chosen as the announcer and the players goes to the character selection screen, he will give each of the fighters humorous nicknames.
First Mortal Kombat sequel in over 20 years (specifically, since Mortal Kombat 4) to be titled with just a number rather than a subtitle. While the previous entry was the tenth game in the mainline series, Mortal Kombat X, as a Roman numeral, does not count, as all of the marketing referred to the "X" as the letter, not "ten".
Bridgette Wilson-Sampras' first acting role in 11 years since appearing in Phantom Punch (2008), with Wilson-Sampras reprising her role of Sonya Blade, which she was the first actress to portray the character in the live action Mortal Kombat (1995).
Erica Lindbeck replaced Ashly Burch as the voice of Cassie Cage, who voiced her in Mortal Kombat X (2015).
