Despite promising that Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled would have no microtransactions, Activision implemented microtransactions on August 2019. Now, players can buy the in-game currency, Wumpa Coins, for as low as $2.45 for 2,500 Wumpa Coins to as high as $9.99 for 10,000 Wumpa Coins.
Despite Gregg Berger being listed in the credits. His character, Ripto (the main villain from "Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage") did not appear in the game in any form.
