Les Norton (2019)

Trivia

Les Norton

Edit
Both the co producer and co star David Wenham aren't fans of the books, having stated: series co-producer, John Edwards, who admits he "wasn't a fan back in the day" of Barrett's "extremely popular" books, which have required a "huge amount" of reinvention: "They weren't art, and in fact lots of the characters written as very backward-looking males have become female characters, and they've been empowered. The charm of the voice has been maintained and the sketchier elements deleted." But Wenham found reading the Les Norton books troubling. "It was a bit of a chore, because although there's great humour and they're wonderful source material, there's a whole heap of stuff that, to put it bluntly, is offensive these days. So the creators have done a pretty fine job taking the jewels out of the piece and letting the rest slide by."
Alex Bertrand who plays Les Norton does a beer ad in the series. And is currently the star of a real beer ad for Iron Jack that echoes Les Norton's getup in the show.
On Dolores Bognor's arrest form it states Reporting Officer Morgan O'Neil, Booking Officer Chris Robinson and Approving Officer John Edwards.

Morgan O'Neil is the series creator Chris Robinson works on the series as misc crew and John Edwards owns and runs the production company behind the series.
In all of the book series Les Norton had hundreds of blues(fights) including multiple opponents. And he was never knocked out, but in the TV series a 5'2 Sheila KO's him (he's 6'3) with a headbutt. (which is physically impossible without her jumping.
The TV series Changes 4 male characters to female characters from the books. And adds 3 new female characters.
