The second season of Rebellion with many new characters. While it covers the issues from a citizens point of view it fails in a broader depiction and understanding of the Irish rebellion against England. In it's last episode, covering the Bloody Sunday massacres, the events are covered cursorily and at a distance, and we get a quick diluted version of the peace with England. The Brits, as usual get shown as evil occupiers, but we do at least see that the rebels were not much more humane.
This is a great series, it does an excellent job of portraying how complex this episode of Irish history was not only politically, but on the familial level as well. The ending was rather anti climatic, it leaves the impression that there's more to come. I would love to see a 3rd edition.
