Andréia Horta in Elis: Viver é Melhor que Sonhar (2019)

Trivia

Elis: Viver é Melhor que Sonhar

Edit
The guiding thread of the miniseries script is a fictional interview by Elis - the last, given shortly before the artist's death on January 19, 1982. From this interview created from the singer's real statements, the screenwriters built the dramaturgy of this docudrama that restores Elis Regina on the scene.
Hugo Prata, the director, said that the emotions on the film sets were frequent, and that many actors were moved to tears at the moments when Elis appeared singing in the interpretation of Andréia Horta.
The director said that Elis Regina's family gave him complete freedom to write about his life.
Caco Ciocler was the only non-musician to take on an instrument. He said "When I come back from a scene where I did well at the piano, I come back happier than when I did well as an actor." In just 15 lessons, pianist Guilherme Ribeiro taught him to play as if he were Cesar Camargo Mariano. Andrea Horta also took singing lessons to give the vocal strength adequate and with a precise duration during the scenes in which she appears dubbing Elis' voice.
The production did several tests, and had Andréia Horta's contact several times, saying that she wanted to make the film. She has a very present life story with Elis. She listened a lot, was born a year after death, was a big fan, cut her hair short in her teens. And after the invitation she studied much more preparation, a very big preparation for her. The actress even had a voice coaching to speak like Elis, a singing coaching to sing like Elis, and also a body coaching, to have the singer's mannerisms. While involved in the project, she disciplines six days a week and made her entire schedule available for production.
