A cliché start, a student in love with the beautiful teacher, a friend tries to push a weirdo out of his predicament, but it is at this moment that this anime begins to find its highlight, deep issues experienced in adolescence mixed with fiery actions. Throughout the episodes new situations that makes us wonder what we would do, without much response, in moments we twist to some side to side, between waves and comings the anime presents a beautiful script with real and unusual situations.
So this was quite the weird show/series or whatever you want to call it. But it is sort of fantasy/dream/nightmare scenario. And in the middle of it, as often is the case, we have a boy who is shy and gets teased and played and toyed with by girls. Now there are other movies/shows that are way more explicit than this is. Still it has nudity and it has sexual situations. You shouldn't watch it because of them though (I would guess you would be dissapointed), they shouldn't put you off either though. The disc cover proclaims "strong sex", I think that is a bit of an exaggeration.
Nevertheless back to what counts here: the story and the teasing and the innuendos. And the relationships ... what would you do? Depending on your moral codex ... but then, those darn feelings, can you repress them? Should you repress them? Is it even wrong? And the ending only adds fiel to the "fire" so to speak ... and leaves possibilities open for this to continue ... it does seem to be over though and it is quite the high note we leave here ... satisfying or not, will be up to you

This show is hard to explain. It's got a spark and it's so jucy.
As one YouTuber sed it (not my words): It's a dumbster fire. It's so bad but it still attracts you. You still keep watching...

It was overall a good anime, I liked it. The coincidences, The love and confusions I get it and I overall liked it but.. the ending was really frustrating and I couldn't accept it also there was such a good opportunity to bring a season 2 of it from there but no they decided to mess it up intentionally ahh man it was such a nice anime and they could bring a happy ending to it in the second season . Don't know if it's even possible to bring a 2nd now and cant imagine how will it continue plus it will be bit awkward considering how the 1st season ended . But I still look forward to a 2nd season hoping they can give this a proper appropriate happy ending. But the thing that really pissed me off is how could the protagonist could do this at the end I thought at the end he was really in love with her but anyway... feeling frustrated and kinda sad .
Edit : Finished reading the manga happy ending my F...

Domestic Girlfriend is an anime that offers a whirlwind of emotions, a rollercoaster of love triangles, and a blend of drama that will keep you captivated. While it has its fair share of strengths and weaknesses, it manages to offer a unique and compelling story that will leave you pondering its complexities.
On the positive side, Domestic Girlfriend excels in delivering intense and emotionally charged moments. The narrative explores the intricate relationships between the characters, diving deep into their struggles, desires, and insecurities. The complex love triangles and forbidden relationships add layers of tension, making each episode a gripping experience. The anime isn't afraid to tackle mature themes such as love, sexuality, and self-discovery, which sets it apart from more conventional romance series.
Another strong aspect of Domestic Girlfriend is its character development. The main protagonists, Natsuo, Rui, and Hina, undergo significant growth throughout the series. Their journeys are filled with obstacles and heartbreak, and witnessing their personal transformations is both captivating and relatable. The supporting cast also adds depth to the story, each bringing their own unique dynamics and perspectives.
However, Domestic Girlfriend does have its shortcomings. One notable flaw is the pacing of the story. At times, it feels rushed, particularly when important events or character developments occur in quick succession. This can make it difficult to fully digest the emotional impact of certain scenes or grasp the nuances of the relationships. Additionally, the anime occasionally relies on melodramatic moments that may feel forced or overly exaggerated, taking away from the authenticity of the story.
Furthermore, while the series explores mature themes, it occasionally struggles to handle them with the necessary depth and sensitivity. Certain plotlines and character arcs could have been explored more thoroughly, providing a better understanding of the characters' motivations and inner conflicts. Some viewers may find this lack of depth to be a missed opportunity, preventing them from fully connecting with the characters and their choices.
In conclusion, Domestic Girlfriend offers a compelling and emotionally charged story that delves into the complexities of love, relationships, and personal growth. It succeeds in delivering intense moments and character development, but falls short in terms of pacing and handling certain themes. If you enjoy dramatic romance series with flawed but relatable characters, Domestic Girlfriend is worth a watch. However, if you prefer a more measured and nuanced exploration of complex relationships, you may find it lacking.

Natsuo Fujii is a high school student who has developed strong feelings for Hina, one of his teachers; he knows any relationship is impossible so agrees to go to a mixer with friends. Here he meets Rui, a girl who surprises him with an unexpected request... she wants him to have sex with her so she can find out what it is like; she is not after a relationship. He accepts and afterwards doesn't expect to see her again. Shortly afterwards his father remarries and as well as a new step mother he acquires two step-sisters... Hina and Rui! His life is about to get complicated. In the background to this Natsuo has joined the school literature club as he hopes to become a writer on day.
I was a little unsure about watching this series but I'm glad I did. Thankfully it avoided gratuitous fan service and forced comic situations in favour a rather touching drama. It handles two taboos; relationships between step-siblings and those between a teacher and her pupil in a mature manner. This gives many genuinely emotional scenes as well as keeping the viewer guessing as to how his relationships will develop. There aren't too many main characters; this means that the characters of Natsuo, Hina and Rui can be developed impressively. The secondary characters are still fun and each contribute nicely to the story. The series has a solid ending which doesn't eliminate the possibility of a second season... I have no idea if there will be more but I certainly hope there is. Overall I'd definitely recommend this to anime fans looking for a maturely handled romance.
These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

It's good, but it could be so much better. They have shorted a (big?) part of the manga. It's a pity! More development equals more attachments...
It would have needed more episodes, but some scenes are striking and will definitely make an impact to the viewer, for sure, and the OST is beautiful, but like I said, we needed more episodes, and we feel that it's going too fast, and it remains a significant defect!

The idea is somewhat ridiculous: Domestic Girlfriend describes a random female named Rui who approaches a COMPLETELY RANDOM boy named Natsuo for sex. Well, okay? He consents. Additionally, Natsuo has feelings for Hina, his teacher. Alright. Subsequently, we learn that Natsuo's father is getting married again. Hina and Rui's mother is now Natsuo's stepmother. Whoa! How ironic that! You might be thinking, "This is just the basic idea. Don't worry, it will probably be better later. However, you are mistaken. The entire plot of Domestic na Kanojo is based on coincidences. Let's discuss anime coincidences.
They don't take themselves too seriously and there are adorable coincidences, such as "boy accidentally meets girl". Events may involve Deus Ex Machina. However, this anime is just a series of odd events and Deus Ex Machina all the time! There were times when Domestic Girlfriends would part ways! No. Episode after episode, the story is pushed forward by force.
Actually, the art is quite good. Though not as good as other of the shows this season (Date a Live III, are you listening?) it's still passable. Thus, one of the best things about this show is its art. The OP is excellent. Definitely the best of the season. Unfortunately, it's squandered on a show like Domestic na Kanojo. The ED is also quite good.
Natsuo is an idiot. Though he is in love with Hina-sensei, he agrees to have sex with Rui. The day he finds out that Hina and Rui would be his stepsisters, he then tries to kiss her when she's sleeping. Yes, that makes sense! Subsequently, he becomes depressed at Kashiwabara Momo's tale and spends time with her. He gives Rui a kiss after speaking to Hina in a passionate manner. Then, in order to get to Hina's residence, he keeps lying to Rui. Then he also engages in explicit behavior with Hina! WHAT THE HECK? Is. This. Are you kidding? His portrayal of a character? Oh well, let me reflect. He's just an unfaithful boy, I dunno.

Weird romeo and juliet theme without the death (it was certainly a tragedy to watch how horribly it ended).

It's one of those series that tries to attract the viewer's attention with kinky scenes. If that suits someone it's okay. The relationships between the characters are not badly presented. The big plus is that the series communicates some good values. Unfortunately, some of them are only a background for the pursuit of love and it would be useful to emphasize it more. The plot has a lot of twists and is therefore even addictive. Also, some cring.
I admit, I'm not one usually for any sexual content, but this one went somewhere I didn't expect. I orginally saw this as an advertisement for another video streaming provider on Facebook. Watching the trailer peaked my interest. So, I quickly Googled the Anime, and found it on Crunchyroll. And I began watching it. And I have personally enjoyed it with all the love and joy in my heart. I hope a 2nd season will come soon, because while I don't agree with the ending, it definitely had a lot of impact on me. 10/10. You guys / girls have earned it. Thank you for another amazing and heart touching Anime.
Hope they will give 2nd season as soon as possible,,I'm dying for it , although I am following manga ,but still I want a full anime completing all the chapters cover of manga
I feel this would've been better if they weren't SIBLINGS...if this wasn't sweet home alabama it would've been good but this..no

Really good drama. The amount of twist overs was huge. I was almost never ready for what will happen. Also it was too easy to start sypathize with MC. I wasnt even able to hold back my feelings and had to scream and cry becase of how spicy and sad it was. WORTH To Watch

Weird Family relationship and Plot. The manga ending is even more weird. Intro Music, OP, really good. But this anime, I want to delete it from my memory. Still it made me go search for the manga to know the ending, so... It really needs to go with your taste. Definitly not mine taste....
