A young girl dealing with the introduction of a new stepmother and sister finds a way to manipulate people via their dreams.
This sounds like a great idea with lots of scope for fantastic dream worlds: a real chance to let ones imagination run wild.
This is not that film. The film is centered around the girls change in family circumstances; the dream world is little more than a mechanic to explore her relationships and is not particularity interesting or detailed. Instead this feels very much like an educational film, I half expected a teacher to appear in front of the animation and say "and that is how we learn sharing."
All the characters are very clearly defined by their roles to the point that they have no personality, only singular flaws to be arbitrated.
Thanks to Pixar many modern cartoons have elements designed to keep adults amused - this does not.
It is nice that a film is targeted directly at children and is something for them, but leaves adults glancing at their phones. Also, I wonder how many children want to spend their Saturday watching a well animated, hour-long episode of Sesame Street. I wouldn't have.
This is well animated and voice acted but lacks the care and attention that the big bucks of Pixar can afford and lacks the wildness of a true indie film.
I suppose this could be helpful if you are in the process of uniting two families together but I think going out for ice-cream or watching Monsters Inc. would be more effective.

Dreambuilders is a very nice and relevant family movie. The plot is covering important issues regarding modern family constructions. It is both a beautiful and sad story. The animation is high quality for a Danish production.
The theme is identical to inside out movie but the story is different. Good concept. Nice animation and the climax of the movie is satisfying.
I really enjoy when movies are better than what I expected, and this movie seemed a lot more silly, and ended up being a tale about broken people who are being mean because of their traumas learning to emphitize with the other, and also, Minna falls into one of the greatest mistakes a human can have: trying to change someone else, it's clear that her attempts didn't fully worked, and she went from zero to psycho in a matter of hours because of this idea, and the movie clearly tells you that this is not correct, however, I don't like that the movie didn't point out how John is bad father for not supporting or listening to his daughter instead of just telling her to put on a "happy hat" after changing her whole life by bringing an uneducated girl who can't seem to conceal stuff, not even leaving a bed.
For a kids movie this may seem to have quite the scary things inside. But I do think they can handle this. Maybe not those who have Arachnophobia (fear of spiders, the unnatural quite heightened one) - but everyone else should be ok. And the story could actually be from a Pixar movie. I was positively surprised by that to say the least.
The animation of course is not up to that task, but that should not be too much of a bother. I really loved it - not sure how the dubbed versions of this work. I imagine that most will watch this in their native language dubbed - and that probably isn't the original audio track. So I can't really give you any insight on that side of the movie - but the heart of it (the story) is really one that is well thought of! The characters are also very nicely drawn ... even our main character has her flaws. And its nice to see female/girl characters getting their time to shine - without it being too much of a story "thing"!
