The film centres around 3 sisters who are still coming to grips with the death of their mother was heavily based on director Andrew Walsh's own childhood experiences. Walsh's father committed suicide when he was 13 years old and at the age of 29 Walsh wrote the script to explore how it affected his childhood and his adult life.

The film was shot in 5 days in Producer Ivan Malekins brothers house in the outer Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
The closing song during the credits 'Go Young" by Brisbane Indie band Hushka was obtained in a chance meeting. Director Andrew Walsh was on holiday in Brisbane Queensland where the lead singer Jack was busking in front of the hotel he was staying at. Walsh introduced himself and Jack gave him a copy of the bands debut EP and told him he could use whatever songs he liked for any of his film projects.
