It's been a big year for television. From broadcast debuts that made an impact to long-awaited streaming phenomenons (that did indeed become streaming phenomenons), 2024 has had plenty of high-quality television to offer. And it's a good thing too, because this year was a little quieter on the cinematic front, as a number of major genre films that were supposed to premiere at some point in 2024 had to be delayed until next year.
But hey, TV had our back with plenty of excellent adventures to keep us entertained. Superman and Lois Lane returned for another season of superheroing on The CW, and they weren't the only iconic comic book duo who got in on the action. The Walking Dead Universe brought Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira back as Rick Grimes and Michonne in the heavily-anticipated The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, while Melissa McBride's Carol Peleteir joined bestie Norman Reedus...

In the allure of superpowers, the cost they entail is often forgotten, especially how maintaining a secret identity can take a toll on the lives of people who are burdened with said power, and of those close to them. Putting Luthor’s quest for vengeance in the backseat, this week Superman and Lois focuses on a less discussed side of the Man of Steel—the necessity of his secret identity and how efforts to maintain it have affected Clark throughout his life. As shown previously in the season, a significant number of people in Smallville are already aware of Clark’s true identity, and in the seventh episode, “A Regular Guy,” things take a dramatic turn, which prompts Clark to take the most crucial decision of his life. To add to the excitement of fans, the episode also introduces the series’ version of Jimmy Olsen, Clark/Superman’s best buddy,...

Ever since Superman and Lois debuted on screens in 2021, its devoted fans have widely called for more attention to be given to the show. It's not hard to see why, for The CW series has reinvented the classic Superman and Lois Lane lore for a whole new generation, adding more gravitas and emotional weight to the classic characters' lives and taking them in directions that the source material never had.
Here, they are parents struggling to raise their twin sons Jonathan and Jordan Kent in a very busy, noisy life as superheroes and reporters in Metropolis. That warranted a move to Smallville, where they have grown closer as a family and made themselves at home in the local community. It's been a delight to watch over the course of its four-season run, and it's one of the many reasons why the beloved series deserves to be on the air for a lot longer.

“I’m Janelle Monáe. And we are in spooky season. And to be in this iconic closet is a nightmare come true. Or is it a scream come true? Hmm.”
So begins Monáe’s venture into the Criterion Closet. Shot and released ahead of Halloween, the actress and singer stayed on theme, wearing mostly black and keeping her selections to the frightful, dystopian, and surreal. First on her list was the 1958 version of “The Blob” starring a young Steve McQueen as he tries to protect his hometown from a gelatinous alien life-form that sucks up everything in its path.
“So this deals with, like, a whole town of teens that are trying to warn the community, like, ‘this alien-like blob is taking over, and it’s basically gonna consume all of us, so beware.’ So it’s super campy,” Monáe said in describing the film. “All the actors and everybody involved,...

The Hungarian State Opera is proud to present Ádám Tulassay’s new interpretation of Verdi’s Requiem, a staged production featuring remarkable Hungarian soloists Andrea Brassói-Jőrös, Andrea Szántó, István Kovácsházi, and Krisztián Cser. The musical performance will be brought to life by the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra and Chorus under the direction of conductor Péter Dobszay.
Hans von Bülow’s oft-quoted critique, referring to Verdi’s Requiem as “an opera in ecclesiastical costume,” aptly captures the widespread perception that, despite its foundation in the Catholic liturgical structure and text, Verdi’s Requiem transcends religious content to convey a universal message of mourning. The work endeavors to express a range of emotions, including Verdi’s own, utilizing techniques familiar from his stage operas. The composer was moved to write the funeral mass following the deaths of two esteemed compatriots: composer Gioachino Rossini and poet Alessandro Manzoni, a prominent figure in Italy’s unification,...

Superman is one of the strongest beings in the DC Universe, and also one of the kindest people to wield the kind of power that he does. so it stands to reason that the Man of Steel will help out a god or two, given his immense strength and power.

There are a lot of Superman stories that have a lot of metaphor and meaning baked into them, usually about the nature of Superman’s responsibilities to the world. When a being is as powerful as Superman, it is usually something to do with living his life with the utmost care, as shown by his famous ‘World of Cardboard’ speech. However, the time he helped Atlas hold up the sky was a different but integral metaphor for the character after all.

The most magical experience I’ve ever had watching a movie wasn’t in a regular movie theater. It used to be a movie theater, but today it’s the home of my hometown symphony: the beautiful Jacobs Music Center in downtown San Diego. Once a Fox Theatre movie palace, Jacobs maintains its 20s and 30s grandeur as a gorgeous destination for live orchestra and jazz, but also the occasional film screening with live music. In 2018, I got to see Russ Peck perform his own organ arrangement of the score for ‘Metropolis’, a silent science fiction epic of truly epic proportions by Austrian filmmaker Fritz Lang, accompanied by the film. I was truly star struck. I made sure to get Peck’s autograph on my ticket after the show, and have been more than obsessed with this movie and broader film history ever since. There is something magical about old...

Last year, DC Comics delivered an unforgettable crossover with Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong, and now they’ve raised the stakes at New York Comic Con by announcing a sequel slated for summer 2025.
Writer Brian Buccellato and artist Christian Duce are returning, ensuring the new series will continue the stunning visuals and intense storytelling fans loved in the original.
Titled Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2, the sequel promises even more fan-favorite characters. Just imagine Harley Quinn taking a swing at Ghidorah with her sledgehammer—this could be a moment jumping right off the pages in the upcoming issues!

Elon Musk’s Tesla, the brand that has been known for its electric, self-driving cars recently unveiled even more cutting-edge designs which push the envelope and could revolutionize the future of robotics as we know it. It all seems like a plot right out of a movie, and Alex Proyas, who directed the 2004 Will Smith sci-fi vehicle I, Robot, recently took to Musk’s home turf on social media to call out his product’s designs. Proyas, in what he’s now saying was just a joke, implied that the Tesla models are too eerily similar to the designs from his Issac Asimov adaptation.
In Proyas’ post, he writes the caption, “Hey Elon, Can I have my designs back please? #ElonMusk #Elon_Musk” while displaying side-by-side comparisons of the newly revealed Tesla Optimus Robots and driverless vehicles with his own film’s designs.

Emotions run high as the final chapter of CW’s best superhero TV series, Superman and Lois premieres with the first two episodes of its fourth season, bringing forth a world where hope is no more. Previously, the third season ended with a vengeful Lex Luthor unleashing Doomsday on Kent farm, and after a grueling battle with the monstrosity in Metropolis, Superman prepared for a final showdown with his strongest enemy on the surface of the Moon. Fans were aware of the fact that the fourth season would adapt the crucial The Death of Superman storyline, but despite that, nothing could have prepared them for the emotional gut punch the final season delivers right from the beginning.
Due to budget cuts in the fourth season, a number of supporting characters like Kyle Cushing, John and Natalie Irons, and Chrissy Beppo are no longer series regulars – which somewhat affects the experience,...

This article contains mild spoilers for "Megalopolis" and "Joker: Folie à Deux."
The film industry has just experienced what seems to me an unprecedented two week span of outrageous misfortune. If we trust the high end of their estimated budgets, Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis" and Todd Phillips' "Joker: Folie à Deux" combined to gross a mere $44 million on exorbitant budgets totaling $344 million.
On the surface, "Megalopolis" would appear to be the bigger disaster; now in its second weekend, the $136 million production has amassed only a paltry $6 million. Granted, Coppola sold his Sonoma Country wineries and borrowed against his new ownership stake in the company that absorbed them to personally finance his physically and intellectually ambitious epic. It's not my money, so I don't care to discuss the wisdom of Coppola's investment; what matters to me is that a massive, star-studded film made without the support of a firmly established...

In addition to new takes on the Man of Steel (David Corenswet) and Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), James Gunn's upcoming Superman reboot will introduce our latest live-action interpretation of the iconic hero's nemesis, Lex Luthor.
Nicholas Hoult landed the role after initially testing to play Superman himself, and while we haven't seen an official shot of the actor in Lex mode, we did catch a glimpse of him looking a little the worse for wear on set shortly after filming got underway in Cleveland (doubling for Metropolis).
Hoult has previously revealed that he took some inspiration from the All-Star Superman version of Luthor, and Gunn has now shared some of the other comic book incarnations of the villain that influenced him while writing this new take on the character.

[Editor’s note: The following post contains spoilers for Episode 6 of “Only Murders in the Building.”]
In this streaming age, where a lot of television seems designed to stretch a story across eight to 10 hours of bingeable content, it’s fantastic to watch a show commit to a stylistic bit for a single episode. “Only Murders in the Building” has always loved tweaking its format in cheeky ways, and it feels right that for Season 4, with Hollywood interlopers (and an unwilling Zach Galifianakis) interrupting Charles’ (Steve Martin), Mabel’s (Selena Gomez), and Oliver’s (Martin Short) investigations, “Omitb” plays with styles of filmmaking themselves.
Episode 6, “Blow Up,” does so in a couple of ways. The most obvious is that the episode is presented as a companion documentary made by in-universe directors the Brothers Sisters (Catherine Cohen and Siena Werber), using only found and specially recorded footage: The episode’s events unfold from the viewpoint of archival material, Brothers’ Sisters talking heads,...

‘Megalopolis’ has been a long time coming. Originally conceiving the idea decades ago, Francis Ford Coppola set out on a quest to tell a fable that maps the fall of Rome onto modern America, a cautionary tale about where we’ve been before and where we’re headed. After years of studios turning him away and needing to halt progress in favor of other projects on multiple occasions, Coppola finally decided to sell a good chunk of his winery to fund this nine-figure project himself. Reconciling a story this expansive and a production this huge was a monster task, but it remains to be seen whether this will be the event of the year that would justify a film of this scale and magnitude. Plot: In a futuristic metropolis named New Rome, the city’s mayor, Cicero (Giancarlo Esposito), battles an idealistic architect named Cesar Catilina (Adam Driver), who wants to create a sustainable utopia.
Review: One of the most unique things about Francis Ford Coppola as a director is the fact that he’s probably the only one I can think of who’s made at least four outright masterpieces and probably an equal number of disasters. For every Godfather, there’s a One from the Heart, but Coppola, to his credit, has never allowed critics or audiences to dictate the movies he makes, and for better or worse, this is exactly the film he wanted. Whether or not anyone else will understand or appreciate what he’s doing is another question. I must admit that even though I can find merit in almost all of his work, Megalopolis escaped me.

Akira is not only famous in the anime and manga sphere but also pop-culture in general. Critics and movie directors alike refer to Akira as one of the greatest and most influential films of the past 30 years. So it’s no wonder fans discredited Stephen Spielberg and George Lucas for turning the film down because it wouldn’t suit western audiences.
According to Manga Entertainment co-creator Andy Frain, Akira shaped modern sci-fi as people know it today. Films like Midnight Special, Looper, The Matrix, Chronicle, Inception, and even the TV show Stranger Things, all borrowed thematically and stylistically from Akira. In fact, two of those five movies even feature a child with destructive telekinetic powers as one of the main plot points.

With the Arrowverse finally coming to an end, the world of DC TV seems a little less bright and a lot more complicated than it did during the era of Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman & Lois. The seventh and final Arrowverse spin-off managed to achieve something completely unique by introducing a version of Superman well into his second act who returns to his hometown of Smallville after years of fighting crime in Metropolis.

Now, as the red-caped superhero finally prepares to launch into the sky one last time, the fans of the CW series seem to be at a loss regarding how to bid one of their favorite characters farewell for the last time. Of all the iterations that have existed over the past 46 years since Christopher Reeve first took on the Superman mantle, Tyler Hoechlin’s version is most certainly one of the best to have graced the screens.

Back in 2016, Moma curator Dave Kehr programmed a series of restorations and rediscoveries from the early days of sound at Universal Studios. Across the country in Los Angeles, film historian Leonard Maltin looked at the schedule with envy and longing. “My mouth was watering,” Maltin told IndieWire. “I was so frustrated that I couldn’t just fly to New York and set up a futon in the lobby so I could go to all the films he was screening.”
Luckily, Maltin was able to see some of the films back in Hollywood when Universal archivist Bob O’Neil allowed him to sit in on screenings that had been set up to check answer prints. “I saw dozens of them,” Maltin said. “Some were good, many were unmemorable or downright bad, but every now and then I got lucky and found a real winner.”

The 30th edition of the Unifrance Rendez-vous in Le Havre is just around the corner. The French film market plays host to hundreds of buyers and a vast range of titles being sold across genres and mediums.

This 31-minute, stop motion-animated TV special from director Sophie Roze should definitely be one to watch, having picked up the Cristal For a TV Production at this year’s Annecy Festival. Her reputation as a pest drives her toward the forest, where she befriends a hedgehog and a capybara,...

Dream Theater have detailed a new vinyl box set, Dream Theater Vol. 1, that houses their studio albums released during the 1990s. The 7-lp collection is set to drop on September 27th via Rhino.
The first of three planned box set releases, Vol. 1 charts the prog-metal legends’ most critically lauded decade, the ’90s, picking up after vocalist James Labrie joined the band in 1991.
Spread across seven discs, the box set includes: Images and Words (1992); Awake (1994); Falling Into Infinity (1997); and Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory (1999). They’re housed in a slipcase featuring new artwork from the band’s longtime collaborator Hugh Syme.
The set is a boon for fans who’ve struggled to track down these albums on vinyl over the years, as some had gone out-of-print. Per Rhino’s press release, Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 will follow in 2025 and ostensibly collect the band’s output in chronological order,...

DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran have given fans an early glimpse of actor Skyler Gisondo in his role as Jimmy Olsen for the upcoming Superman film. Gunn shared two photos of Gisondo in character on social media to celebrate the 83rd anniversary of Jimmy Olsen’s first appearance in comics.
In the comics, Jimmy Olsen debuted on August 19, 1941 working as an “office boy” in Action Comics #6. He later became a photojournalist at the Daily Planet in Metropolis and a close friend to Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Gunn noted Jimmy Olsen’s long history in the comics in his social media post marking the character’s anniversary.
The as-yet untitled Superman movie recently finished filming under Gunn’s direction. He has described his vision for exploring Superman’s struggle to balance his Kryptonian origins with his human upbringing. The movie aims to showcase themes of truth, justice,...

Update: The "Megalopolis" trailer was pulled by Lionsgate after it came to light that it included made-up quotes from critics. "Lionsgate is immediately recalling our trailer for 'Megalopolis,'" a Lionsgate spokesperson said in a statement provided to Variety. "We offer our sincere apologies to the critics involved and to Francis Ford Coppola and American Zoetrope for this inexcusable error in our vetting process. We screwed up. We are sorry." The rest of this article has been left as it was originally written.
Francis Ford Coppola may very well be our greatest living filmmaker, so the looming release of his first feature in 13 years would be a major cinematic event at any juncture in his career. That he is 85 years old and spent $120 million of his own money to finance it makes it a one-of-a-kind risk — one that, judging from the reviews out of last May's Cannes Film Festival,...

Until now, Homelander has been the only one to mimic Captain America’s righteous star-spangled banner routine, although in a diabolically psychopathic light. However, with the coming of a new age, it seems that Batman is also getting in on the game. DC is finally going toe-to-toe with Captain America himself with their own version: Commander Star.

Although the volume of DC comics of the last century or so has been a colorfully graded experience with delectable villains and incomparable heroes, it was high time that the audience of the newer generation of comic readers was introduced to something a bit more fresh. Commander Star performs that role with more than sufficient gusto in Batman’s all-new edition.

James Gunn has a notable track record in the superhero genre, having contributed to the MCU with the successful “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise and also participating in Snyder’s ill-fated Dceu.
When he and Safran took over DC Studios, they announced a complete reboot along with a comprehensive slate of new projects. Over a year since that announcement, we now have a clearer view of how Gunn intends to build a cinematic universe that aims to outshine both the MCU and the Dceu.
When the initial slate was revealed, we gained some insight into the universe James Gunn is shaping. The co-ceo of DC Studios stated that his vision would resemble “Star Wars” and “Game of Thrones,” featuring morally complex characters and a rich, expansive world. Gunn also outlined the distinctions between the MCU, Dcu, and the previous Dceu.

James Gunn at this point has quite a history in the superhero world. He’s been a part of the MCU, giving rise to the highly profitable ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise. He’s also been a part of Snyder’s doomed Dceu.
When he and Safran took over the reins of DC Studios, they announced their complete reboot and a full slate of projects. But talking is easier than doing and now more than a year since the initial announcement we have a better picture of how Gunn plans to create a cinematic universe that will surpass both MCU and Dceu.
When the initial slate was announced we got some insight into what kind of universe James Gunn is trying to create. The co-ceo of DC Studios said that his universe will be similar to Star Wars and Game of Thrones, with plenty of morally complex characters and stuff happening all around.

The long-gestating reboot of the popular sci-fi franchise Battlestar Galactica, from Sam Esmail’s Esmail Corp., is no longer set up at Peacock.
First announced as being in development at the NBCUniversal streamer in 2019, the new incarnation of Battlestar Galactica never got to a green light but remained in development, including a writer change within the past year as The Sinner creator Derek Simonds came on board as writer, executive producer and showrunner.
That version of the project from Simonds will now be shopped to other platforms by its studio, Peacock’s NBCUniversal sibling UCP.
A new take on the classic IP, the latest incarnation is executive produced by Simonds as well as Esmail Corp’s Sam Esmail and Chad Hamilton. UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
Battlestar Galactica has been a passion project for Mr. Robot creator Esmail who is a big fan of the original.

Hugh Jackman’s grand comeback as the iconic Wolverine meant he’d have to endure months of grueling workouts and a stringent routine to stay in shape. Who knew adamantium-clawed mutants needed a modest diet of steamed asparagus and fish to keep all that muscle in check?

How else would the big bad mutant put down adversaries and fight the ‘Ryan Reynolds bromance’ allegations?...

Filming on James Gunn's Dcu Superman reboot is expected to finish up in Cleveland, Ohio today before production moves to Cincinnati, but these scenes are being shot behind closed doors.
After numerous revealing shots taken on the streets of "Metropolis" found their way online over the past couple of weeks, Gunn and his crew have moved to the historic Cleveland Arcade for this final day of filming. Details on what exactly is being shot are sketchy, but it is said to be a "major sequence" involving Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan returned to set last night), and two other characters.
We have heard that one of the actors has not been seen in previous set snaps, which leads us to believe that it's either Sean Gunn (Maxwell Lord) or Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho).
We'll be sure to update if anyone does manage to get a revealing shot. For now, you can...

The capacity for sci-fi to pack imaginative exuberance, political richness, and sheer pulpy excitement into a dazzling cinematic adventure has been yielding masterpieces since the early days of the film medium, and it has allowed directors from Stanley Kubrick to Andrei Tarkovsky to Lizzie Borden to Denis Villeneuve to create some of their finest, most enduring work. At the same time, big-budget sci-fi can be a tough sell -- the greater the worlds and setpieces and ideas being put forth, the higher the risk of financial underperformance.
Unsurprisingly, film history is peppered with sci-fi movies that flopped upon release, only for them to be reappraised and re-emerge as cult favorites years later. That was true of Fritz Lang's "Metropolis," the grandfather of all go-for-broke sci-fi monuments, and it has been true of countless ambitious and unique cinematic visions in the century since. No matter how hard the movies below may have flopped,...

“I can’t believe we’re here,” a friend said to me about halfway through this year’s Il Cinema Ritrovato, which takes over the center of Bologna for nine glorious days every summer, before correcting himself: “It actually makes a lot of sense that we’re here, but I still can’t believe it.”
My friend was in awe not that we––a pair of New York cinephiles, both fairly well-traveled––managed to make it to beautiful Bologna, but that we had entered some kind of an Olympic village for cinephiles, each day filled with some of the most memorable moviegoing events of our lives and each night filled with hours of discussion about the day’s pleasures. At the festival, everyone’s first question is “how many years have you been coming?” and newcomers are warmly welcomed into the fray. The favored departure is not a “ciao” or...

It's mayhem in Metropolis!
As filming continues in Cleveland, these latest photos and video from the set of James Gunn's Superman reboot spotlights panic in the streets, as citizens begin to flee from someone - or something - causing destruction in the city.
The Man of Steel (David Corenswet) is present, but it looks like he's been temporarily taken out of action after being trapped up to his neck in a large crater in the ground that's been filled in with rubble.
Is this the result of a battle against an equally powerful foe?
There's no sign of the unnamed clone(?) villain spotted in earlier set snaps here, but we do have a first look at Krypto... or at least, a dog in a Krypto outfit!

“MaXXXine,” the third film in writer/director Ti West and producer/actress Mia Goth’s “X” trilogy, is now in theaters. From the ’70s set “X” to the 1910s of “Pearl” and now the ’80s of “MaXXXine,” one of the defining characteristics of the trilogy is how they adopt the look and filmmaking style of the genre of the films they are emulating. Cinematographer Eliot Rockett, a long-time West collaborator who shot all three films, told IndieWire the roots of this approach pre-dated 2022’s “X.”

Despite a divisive first look, Superman has greatly impressed fans in recent weeks. That's down to what feels like an endless supply of photos and footage from the movie's Cleveland set, all of which have showcased the reboot's characters and "Metropolis" setting.
Way back in 2013, it was down to Zack Snyder to put a fresh spin on Superman in Man of Steel. That split opinions for its take on the iconic DC Comics character, as did Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
With Superman, James Gunn is looking to relaunch the hero and the entire Dceu as the new Dcu. We won't know how he's fared until sitting down to watch this movie, but in the meantime, there are some telltale signs that the filmmaker's vision for Superman is vastly better than what's come before.

After the very public scuffle between Clark and his Kryptonian cousin Kara Zor El, there were bound to be some problematic outcomes. Especially because it has allowed detractors and enemies another chance to incite paranoia against the alien superhero. Just as the series previously made a point against the prevalent xenophobic tendencies of the government along with the privatization of the military, the seventh episode of the ongoing season of My Adventures with Superman offers a critique of these through the aggressive overtaking of Metropolis by Task Force X.
Previously, it was revealed that Kara was brainwashed to act as Brainiac’s enforcer and took over entire planetary civilizations under the Kryptonian AI’s command. Eventually, Brainiac learns about Clark’s superior abilities and captures him with the intention of weaponizing him, whereas Kara becomes remorseful after learning the truth about her past. Work has resumed on Superman in Cleveland (we're going to miss these daily updates when the production inevitably moves elsewhere) and the Man of Steel is back in action!
This time, David Corenswet's iconic DC Comics superhero is shown taking flight to try and save a falling civilian. That is indeed the actor performing his own stunts for the scene and, in contrast to other recent photos, it appears Superman's suit is a lot more beaten up here.
In fact, it looks as dirty as the version seen in James Gunn's divisive first-look photo, suggesting this sequence takes place later in the film when Metropolis comes under attack.

Plot: Set in Japan, the series follows Suzie who recently lost her husband and son in a mysterious plane crash. As consolation, her husband’s company gives Suzie a robotic home assistant with a sunny disposition–aptly named Sunny. A begrudging relationship forms between the two as they set out to figure out what really happened to Suzie’s family.
Review: Love or fear them; robots have been a part of popular culture for over a century. As technology develops, so do the various interpretations of sentient machines. From Metropolis and Star Wars to M3GAN and Optimus Prime, robots are interpreted as everything from comic relief to villainous killers bent on the destruction of mankind. The new AppleTV+ series Sunny takes a darkly funny look at the potential balance between love and hate for robots in a great example of mature storytelling combined with an original take on a timeless genre.

We've seen a lot of photos from the set of Superman find their way online since filming got underway on the streets of Cleveland, Ohio (doubling for Metropolis), and a few of them appeared to give away some pretty significant plot points.
Just in case, potential spoilers follow.
Though most of the shots only hinted at minor story details, we did get a first look at an imposing character assisting in the capture of the Man of Steel (David Corenswet). Though his face was hidden under a mask, this appeared to confirm that Superman will face-off against a powerful physical threat, be it Ultraman, Bizarro, Ulysses, or an amalgamation of several different villains.
We also saw Mr. Terrific (Edi Gathegi) offering doggy treats to thin air, which seemed to confirm that Krypto will be making an appearance.
Despite these (apparent) reveals, director James Gunn insists that no spoilers have been...

We don’t often write about Indian films here on Fiction Horizon so when we actually get the chance to do so, it implies that we are writing about something truly exciting and fasctinating. In this case, this implication is definitely true as we are going to report on the most expensive Indian film ever made, the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 Ad, which was recently released in India and is trending around the world. As we have said, the film is – with an estimated ₹600 crore (US$72 million) production budget – the most expensive Indian film of all time and it seems that Hollywood should be afraid of what is coming from Bollywood!
The movie was initially scheduled for a May 2024 premiere, but due to post-production taking a bit longer, it was officially released to very positive reviews on June 27, 2024. As the film is preparing to conquer the world, we have decided...

James Gunn has a substantial history in the superhero realm, having contributed to the highly successful ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise within the MCU and being involved with Snyder’s troubled Dceu.
When Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC Studios, they announced a complete reboot along with a full slate of new projects. However, actions speak louder than words. Now, more than a year since their initial announcement, we have a clearer understanding of how Gunn plans to craft a cinematic universe that aims to surpass both the MCU and the former Dceu.
Gunn is currently busy filming ‘Superman’ in Cleveland, which has been transformed into Metropolis for the upcoming movie. Set leaks have generated excitement, though Corenswet’s Superman suit has received mixed reviews.
Gunn has previously shared his enthusiasm about creating a new cinematic universe from scratch, describing the experience as “having a blast.” He also insists...
