Barbara Bedford, Lewis Stone, and Lloyd Whitlock in The Notorious Lady (1927)

Trivia

The Notorious Lady

Edit
Doris Kenyon was originally going to play Mary Marlowe/Mary Brownlee, but she was too ill to do so.
The publicity department tried to gain interest in the film by linking it with the then current craze for the 'The Black Bottom' dance.
In Chattanooga, the local theater publicized the movie by delivering folders to local women. The exterior read, 'Warning to all housewives' and, when opened, the contents read, 'Watch your husband, 'The Notorious Woman' is coming to town.'
The premiere took place at The Strand Theatre, 1579 Broadway, New York City, USA.
The final scene shot for the movie was that in which Lewis Stone and Earl Metcalfe swim a turbulent sea while being pursued by African natives.
