It is the final appearance of Joe Cobb and the film debut of Jackie Cooper.
Bobby Mallon's name "Graham McCracker" is a homage to Graham McNamee, a noted sportscaster in the 1920's. His song, "I Wonder What's Become of Sally," is reportedly a joke about McNamee's penchant for singing on the radio as well; his original ambition was to be a singer.
This was released a couple weeks before the Wall Street crash.
Farina asks, "Whad'ya expect? Jack Dempsey and Benny Leonard?" Benny Leonard was a professional boxer. He held the world lightweight championship for eight years, from 1917 to 1925. Jack" Dempsey was a professional boxer who competed from 1914 to 1927, and reigned as the world heavyweight champion from 1919 to 1926. He became a cultural icon and owned a famous restaurant in New York city.
This is the third talking Our Gang film to be filmed, but the fourth to be released.
