Harold Lloyd's lookalike, the Prince of Razzamatazz, is played by his older brother, Gaylord Lloyd, who is not credited.
Harold Lloyd married his co-star Mildred Davis (Princess Florelle) on 10 February 1923. They remained married until her death on 18 August 1969.
In the DVD commentary, Mildred Davis reportedly said one of the more difficult things about this film was dragging the regal train behind her in the royal court. She was only 5 feet tall and weighed about 98 pounds, and the train was made of ermine fur and weighed about 75 pounds.
Some prints of this film with latter-day title cards rename several of the characters, calling the King "Louis XIVIIX&", misspelling the name of 'Snub' Pollard's character ("Requefort"), and calling the bodyguard/tutor "Count Nichola Throwe" (i.e., Nickel-a-Throw). Prints featuring the original title cards do not use these names. The original name of the King, Razzamatazz, is confirmed in an insert shot of a telegram that appears in all prints.
