Trivia

Hurricane Hutch

Edit
Director George B. Seitz and Spencer Gordon Bennet were among the impromptu stunt doubles for Charles Hutchison. Hutch avoided doing many of the more arduous stunts because his injuries from previous projects had not healed.
Episode titles: 1. The Secret Cipher 2. The Cycle Bullet 3. The Millionth Chance 4. Smashing Through 5. One Against Many 6. At the Risk of His Neck 7. On a Dangerous Coast 8. Double Crossed 9. Overboard 10. The Show Down 11. Hare and Hounds 12. Red Courage 13. Neck and Neck 14. The Secret of the Flame 15. The Last Duel
Joe Cuny doubled for Charles Hutchison many times while filming this serial. He was paid $5 for each stunt. "Let Joe take the five" became Hutch's catch phrase on set.
Charles Hutchison came up with the story while recuperating from a dislocated elbow he sustained during filming for a version of 'The Fortieth Door' which was never completed.
