Raymond Longford was supposed to direct the film, but Beaumont Smith replaced him. Longford is credited as associate director.

The seventh, and final, film about the Hayseeds, it is the only one with sound.

Tal Ordell, playing Joe Hayseed, had previously played Dad Hayseed.

Newspaper adverts and some exhibitor materials disagree as to the exact title; either it was "The Hayseeds" or "The Hayseeds Come To Town". The 1920 version also would seem to have alternate titles.
