The first sound film made about the life of Jesus Christ, although it only covers Palm Sunday, the Passion, and the Resurrection.
The earliest documented telecast of this film took place Friday 26 March 1948 simultaneously in New York City on WNBT (Channel 4), and in Philadelphia on WPTZ (Channel 3). In Detroit it first aired Monday 11 April 1949 on WXYZ (Channel 7) and again Sunday 17 April 1949 on WJBK (Channel 2); in Washington DC it first aired Tuesday 12 April 1949 on WMAL (Channel 7), in Chicago Sunday 17 April 1949 on WENR (Channel 7), and in Boston Sunday 2 April 1950 on WNAC (Channel 7). Los Angeles televiewers also got their first look at it Sunday 2 April 1950 and again Friday 7 April 1950 on KNBH (Channel 4).
