Bruce Bennett and Ula Holt in The New Adventures of Tarzan (1935)

Trivia

The New Adventures of Tarzan

Edit
This film consists of the full 65 minute first episode of the same-titled serial, plus the cliffhanger resolution at the beginning of chapter 2 and about 45 seconds of new footage showing the capture of the villain and resolution of other details left hanging in the serial, making a complete feature thereby
The print principally circulated on videotape and VHS is a British version of the feature, reduced to 59 minutes and with most of the dialog track re-dubbed by British actors using American accents. It is speculated that the original print soundtrack was lost during the war.
The edited, dubbed British version of this film was first seen in the USA on television beginning in the early 1950s. At that time, to stretch the running time, four segments of non-matching Africa-shot wildlife, native and safari stock footage totaling 10 minutes were cut into the print. By the 1960s, this footage had been removed, but otherwise the British-cut version was the only one seen on American television. The full, original feature version has never been restored.
The dubbing of the British version was so poorly done that a disclaimer was added to the credits to the effect that the bad sound was caused by "poor atmospheric conditions" encountered by the film's makers in Guatemala. In fact, prints of the serial itself present an adequate soundtrack and no disclaimer: it is unique to the British cut-and-dubbed edition of this feature version.
