Warner Baxter and Janet Gaynor in One More Spring (1935)

Trivia

One More Spring

Edit
In the early 1970s director Henry King was interviewed for the American Film Institute's oral history project, and spoke of this film. "One More Spring was a very popular book. I read it on the train coming from New York and thought it would make a charming picture, but it didn't. People didn't want to see things that were so real, happening around them all the time. It was made as a comedy, but became too serious. It was really a tragedy." He also said: "It would have been great to do it after the Depression, but to do it during the middle didn't work out."
Charles Farrell was originally slated to be the male lead, as part of a two-picture deal he had made at Fox, at the request of Janet Gaynor; the first film being Change of Heart (1934). Due to an argument with his wife Virginia Valli, Farrell backed out of the picture and he was replaced by Warner Baxter.
Renzo Rinaldi was originally announced to star in this film, but was killed in a plane crash before shooting began.
One of 3 films with the pairing of Warner Baxter and Janet Gaynor; previously they co-starred in Daddy Long Legs (1931) and Paddy the Next Best Thing (1933).
