Film Daily-Saturday, June 29, 1935: Cicely Courtneidge), GB star, has been borrowed by M-G-M to appear with Frank Morgan) in "Perfect Gentleman." She leaves England on July 10 aboard the Majestic.
Edward Childs Carpenter's play was written specifically as a stage show for Frank Morgan but was never produced. It was copyrighted 28 January 1929.
Many cast members in studio records/casting call lists did not appear or were not identifiable in the movie. These were (with their character names): Harry Allen (Hack Driver), May Beatty (Harriet's Friend), Barlowe Borland (Bum), Clyde Cook (Drunk), Eva Dennison (Bidder), Leyland Hodgson (Agency Clerk), Olaf Hytten (Tod Brodie), Leonard Mudie (Pawn Broker), Sonny Ray (Assistant Pawn Broker), John Rogers (Milkman), Ivan F. Simpson (Moss) and Eric Wilton (Beezely). In addition, some production charts and news items list Elsa Buchanan, Harry Stubbs and Ottola Nesmith as cast members, but they were not seen either.
