Craig Reynolds and Ann Sheridan in The Footloose Heiress (1937)

Trivia

The Footloose Heiress

Edit
The 26-year-old stunt woman Marcella Arnold was killed while on location at Oak Grove Park, Pasadena, California, when the car she was in overturned.
Craig Reynolds who played Ann Sheridan's love match Bruce 'Butch' Baeder had a short and tragic life. His first film was in 1929, but he was a rising young 'second lead' by the 1930's at Warner Bros. After 1940, he enlisted in the Marine Corps, fought in the battle of Guadalcanal, was wounded and received a Purple Heart.

In 1943, he married actress Barbara Pepper. Their marriage proved a loving one despite later financial hardships when both could only find sporadic film work. On stage in 1944, they appeared together in a modern version of "Lady Chatterly's Lover" at the Geary Theater in San Francisco. After only six years of marriage, tragically, 42-year-old Robinson was killed in October 1949 in Los Angeles in a motorcycle accident. He left a widow with two sons.
The working title of The Footloose Heiress (1937) was The Madcap Heiress.
A contemporary article in The Hollywood Reporter noted Ann Sheridan replaced Patricia Ellis in the role of Kay. Ellis was working at Columbia, shooting Venus Makes Trouble (1937) at the time of this production.
