The Man Who Could Work Miracles (1936)

Trivia

The Man Who Could Work Miracles

Edit
Theatrical movie debut of Michael Rennie (San Francisco Cop).
Torin Thatcher, George Sanders, and Ivan Brandt are Celestial Bodies who appear at the beginning and end of this movie.
All the members of the team were brought to Britain by Korda or trained by him, the reason being that at that time special effects in Britain were still very backward in comparison to those in America and Korda wanted to raise standards to those of Hollywood.
There is a painting over Mr. Maydig's (Ernest Thesiger's) fireplace of the interior of a Greek style palace. Later, Mr. Fotheringay's (Roland Young's) transformation of Colonel Winstanley's (Sir Ralph Richardson's) house into a palace looks pretty much like the one in the painting.
Colonel Winstanley, who was meant to be the "old Colonel", describes George Fotheringay as being young, but Sir Ralph Richardson, who played him, was thirty-three years-old, fifteen years younger than Roland Young, who played Mr. Fotheringay.
