Glenda Farrell and Barton MacLane in Blondes at Work (1938)

Trivia

Blondes at Work

Edit
The $10 that Torchy tips the taxi driver for following another cab would be equivalent to about $212 in 2022.
Fourth of nine "Torchy Blane" films from Warner Brothers made from 1937-39. Glenda Farrell would play Torchy and be paired with Barton MacLane in seven. Only Tom Kennedy would play his character of Gahagan in all nine films.
As Blanche holds a gun on Torchy, Torchy reaches for a cigarette and says " I'd walk a mile for one". This refers to the famous "I'd walk a mile for a Camel" (cigarette) advertising slogan.
Several cast members in studio records/casting call lists did not appear or were not identifiable in the movie. These were (with their character names): David Newell (Bridegroom), Minerva Urecal (Fashion Editor), Jack Mower (Sergeant) and Loia Cheaney (Operator)
By all rights, in 1938 holding a murder suspect incommunicado and keeping away from his lawyer should be an impeachable offense but Captain Greer held thusly.
