This is, apparently, a lost film; rumors as to its survival were squelched when the "lost" version, after a heavily promoted announced presentation 8 February 2014 at the Egyptian Theatre, by the Hollywood Heritage group along with the Jack Oakie Foundation, turned out to be the more familiar 1955 remake, much to the dismay of advance ticket holders. Only the soundtrack to one reel is known to survive.
Adapted from a Broadway musical that opened on April 25, 1927 at the Belasco Theater in New York and ran for 352 performances.
The last 3 reels, consisting of 3772 of the film's 9327 feet, running 31 minutes, were filmed in 2-strip Technicolor.
