- Landlord: You know my rules about dogs. I'm going to throw him out!
- Ollie: On a night like this?
- Landlord: Listen, if I wasn't so kind-'earted, I'd throw you out too. Now get to bed!
- Ollie: Where are you going?
- Stan: [emphatically] I'm gonna get my dog!
- Ollie: You've gotten us into enough trouble. I'll do it.
- Ollie: [Stan prepares to leave with Laughing Gravy, but Ollie stops him and takes the dog] You're not going to strip me of everything, are you? It's going to be lonesome enough without you taking the dog. Goodbye.
- [Stan prepares to leave, but stops and looks back at Ollie one more time. Then he throws down his suitcase, takes out the inheritance letter and rips it up; Ollie beams]
- Ollie: My pal! And to think, you're giving it all up for me.
- Stan: For you? I didn't want to leave Laughing Gravy.
- [takes back the dog]
- Ollie: OH!
- [Ollie angrily throws down his hat and starts smashing various objects around the room; Fade out]
- Ollie: [about the mysterious letter Stan received] Is it good news or bad news?
- Stan: Yes and no.
- Ollie: What do you mean yes and no?
- Stan: Tis and it tisn't.
- Ollie: Tis and it tisn't?
- Stan: Uh-huh and uh-uh.
- Ollie: Oh! You're getting on my nerves.
- Stan: What's the matter?
- Ollie: I'm stuck! Do something to help me.
- Ollie: Now look at us! We'll have to take a bath before we go to bed!
