Trivia

Men Call It Love

Edit
Early product placement: Jack tells his butler Brandt he always needs a supply of White Rock on hand, then a refrigerator shelf is shown full of bottles of the actual product. The company, founded in 1871, is still in business as of 2016.
Based on the Broadway play "Among the Married", which opened at the Bijou Theatre, 209 W. 45th St. (demolished 1982) on October 3, 1929 and ran for 44 performances.
Passed over by most major markets because of its age, the obscurity of its mostly forgotten players, and its pre-code theme and attitude, this film was first telecast in Salt Lake City Wednesday 24 April 1957 on KTVT (Channel 4), followed by Norfolk VA 11 July 1957 on WTAR (Channel 3), by Minneapolis 25 August 1957 on KMGM (Channel 9), by Portland OR 25 October 1957 on KGW (Channel 8), by Honolulu 13 November 1957 on KHVH (Channel 13), and by Fresno CA 5 December 1957 on KMJ (Channel 24); it eventually showed up in Salinas/Monterey CA 27 January 1959 on KSBW (Channel 8), in Windsor ON 25 February 1959 on CKLW (Channel 9) (serving Detroit), in Kalamazoo 19 August 1959 on WKZO (Channel 3), and in Tucson 15 September 1959 on KVOA (Channel 4). Today it's in the Turner Classic Movies library and is occasionally taken out for an airing on cable TV on TCM, much to the delight of a new generation of vintage film enthusiasts.
The character Jack hums the tune to the song "Singin' in the Rain" at about 1:05 into the film. The song was introduced in the 1929 MGM feature "The Hollywood Revue of 1929" and later became popular again due to its use in the 1952 MGM film named for the song.
Filmed in 1930, released in 1931.
