The film is based on the novel 'Revolt' by Mary C. McCall Jr., who also worked on the film's screenplay.
Though labeled as "Forbidden Hollywood", the evidence is missing. Perhaps it is in the 19 minutes not in this version. According to Maltin's "Classic Movies" p.485, the original length was 76 minutes, not 57.
Some cast members in studio records/casting call lists did not appear or were not identifiable in the movie. These were (with their character names, if any): William Ricciardi (Kitchen boss), C. Henry Gordon (Head waiter), John Marston (Bilkerston), 'Maurice Black' (Cafe manager) and Yola d'Avril.
