Trivia

The Spirit of Notre Dame

Edit
Knute Rockne died in plane crash while flying to the West Coast to serve as a technical adviser for the production of this film.
The role of "Truck McCall," played by Andy Devine, was based on Notre Dame football player George Gipp ("The Gipper"). And in fact, Devine recites a variation of the "Win one for the Gipper" speech nine years before the more famous Ronald Reagan version.
