The second of two films in which William Boyd and Ginger Rogers played together. The first was Suicide Fleet (1931).
The steam locomotive seen in this picture was the No. 1, owned by the Sugar Pine Lumber Company. The ALCO 2-8-2T was built in 1923 and weighed 190,000 lb. (86,000 kg). After the company went bankrupt in 1933, it was sold and subsequently owned by a couple other logging firms, and was scrapped in 1955.
The lumber operations were filmed using facilities rented from the Sugar Pine Lumber Company in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California.
On the log cars of the runaway train can be seen "Minarets and Western RR Co." backwards, as the image was reversed - probably to keep the action going from left to right on the screen. That railroad was also part of the Sugar Pine Lumber Company.
