Wedding Worries (1941) was the final Our Gang of most popular female Rascal character, Darla Hood. She returned 37 years later to portray off screen in the 1979 Christmas special, The Little Rascals' Christmas Special (1979), where she spoke off screen, as Spanky's mother. Darla died of acute hepatitis on Wednesday, June 13th, 1979, 173 days (24 weeks & 5 days) before the 1979 Christmas special originally televised on Monday, December 3rd, 1979. She only saw and heard it after it was filmed, successfully.
