Narrator Quentin Reynolds was one of the premier American correspondents in World War II. He interviewed members of the Eagle Squadron in a chapter of his book, "Only the Stars Are Neutral."
David Alan Johnson's book, "Yanks in the R.A.F.", mentions the British premiere of this movie. Real Eagle Squadron pilots sat in two rows of the theater. They were so unimpressed by the movie that they walked out before it ended.
