William Holden's final film prior to his entering military service for World War II. He was granted a temporary deferment in order to complete filming. Young and Willing (1943) was filmed in late 1941, but not released until after this picture. He would not make another feature film until Blaze of Noon (1947).
The name of Elizabeth Dunn's source story is "Something Borrowed", which was also the working title for the movie.
