- Mr. Jones: I'm Carolyn Grant.
- Carolyn Grant: Glad to know ya. You know, the first thing we're gonna do is buy ya a drink.
- Johnny Sparrow: Yeah - if it hadn't been for you we'd still be under the truck.
- Mr. Jones: Those thugs almost took over.
- Carolyn Grant: They're not thugs. They're just poor frightened people who were bombed out of their homes.
- Mr. Jones: What's that?
- Johnny Sparrow: The baby Mr Jones. Must've waked up.
- Mr. Jones: Thought I told you to get rid of it?
- Johnny Sparrow: You ever tried to give away a baby, Mr Jones? Especially a Chinese baby? I tried to, but everybody seems to have plenty of them.
- Mr. Jones: I just shot three Japs. Blew'em to bits against a wall and I've no more feelings about them than if they were flies on a manure heap. As a matter of fact I kind of enjoyed it.
- Mr. Jones: I knew a girl like you once. She had an act in a circus. Used to crack a whip and make lions jump through paper hoops.
- Carolyn Grant: And you prefer the lipstick sort, huh?
- Mr. Jones: Yes, mostly because I don't like jumping through paper hoops.
- Mr. Jones: General, in all the countries that you and your gang have put your finger on, there are millions and millions of guys like me Little guys, who have never amounted to much, but all living our lives under pretty much the same pattern. The pattern of our life is freedom, and it's in our blood,giving us the kind of courage you and your gang never dreamed of. And in the end, it's that pattern of freedom that's going to make guys like you wish you'd never been born.
