    Pretty good movie

Please note that you have Eddie Dew and Fuzzy Knight listed as Marshals. They are in fact Texas Rangers in the movie. the movie was shown on the Westerns Channel today. The plot was slightly different and proved interesting. There were some interesting twists. The script was thoughtfully written. I never knew that Rod Cameron made "B" westerns. I saw him in the movies in the 50's and 60's. He played many different action leads. I had never heard of Eddie Dew. At first I thought that maybe it was another stage name for Eddie Dean but the first couple of close-ups convinced me otherwise. All in all I enjoyed this movie. Al

Does What A B Western Should

Rod Cameron and Fuzzy Knight are moseying along when they run into a shoot-out. They spend the rest of the movie down in Old Mexico, trying to recover $50,000 for Jennifer Holt and her rancho, while bad guy leader Glen Strange wants to get his hands on it too.

Of course, the point of the movie is going to be the big fist fight between the two big guys, Cameron and Strange, or at least their stunt doubles. In the meantime, however, there's some good music provided by the Six Bar Cowboys and some fine camerawork around Corriganville by Maury Gertsman. Universal's B Western division knew how to turn out a sensible western economically, and Howard Bretherton was an able jack-of-all-trades director. No one sits down to watch a B western in hopes of a masterpiece, but this one is a fine way to kill an hour.

Average B western, headed by Rod Cameron and Jennifer Holt

Those of you who like occasional interludes of western music will be pleased, as about half a dozen are included, most curtesy of the Bar 6 Cowboys. Otherwise , you will see various expected types of action, and a little romance in this B western, about 1 hr. long.........The venerable badman Glen Strange, as Burt Drummond, is leader of the outlaw gang that robbed a bank, killing, ranch owner, Mr. Salezar. His gang is opposed by 2 Texas Rangers: Cal(Eddie Dew), and Trigger(Fuzzy Knight), as well as by Buck(Rod Cameron), brother of one of the gang, who became a renegade from the gang when he discovered most of the stolen money came from friends: the Salezars. As a result of a gun fight, pitting the brothers against the gang, Johnny was mortally wounded and Buck was taken prisoner. The 2 rangers find Johnny near death. He tells them that he made off with the money and hid it, making a map of where to find it, telling only Buck where the map was hidden. The Rangers then rescue Buck from the gang. Buck then rides to the Salezars, where he surprises Dolores in her bedroom. Now, we have met all the main characters. ....... I don't think the(crazy) location of the map should have been revealed until it is recovered, near the end........ I will leave the rest for you to discover..........I rate this B western, shot in B&W, as average.
