J. Carrol Naish delivers his dialogue in the same manner (although a bit more acerbic) as his radio character Luigi Basco in Life with Luigi.
Although not credited by choice, this film short was co-written by Betty Smith, who, at the time, was romantically involved with credited screen writer Robert Finch. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945), the screen adaptation of Smith's best-selling novel, was released the same year.
