    According to an ad in the Chicago Tribune, Wednesday, February 5, 1947, the Warner Bros. hit film, Humoresque, opened at the Roosevelt theatre, State nr Wasghinton; the ad reads: "A woman with a stormy heart she couldn't control! The one woman who could top that "Mildred Pierce" performance! The one story that gives her a chance to do it! . . . Joan Crawford, the winner of the 1946 Academy Award for "Mildred Pierce" here in another history making role!, and John Garfield, with Oscar Levant, J. Carrol Naish. . . . "Love me now," she said, "hate me later" . . . and then all the warmth of their nearness engulfed these two who met and kissed and never should have met again!" . . . Today, 8:45 am.

    The film, a clear hit, played over five weeks at the Roosevelt.
