This film was a hit at the box office, earning RKO a profit of $568,000 according to studio records.
The film also marked the motion picture debut of actor Joseph Pevney (1911--2008). Pevney appeared in a number of films prior to becoming a director for the remainder of his long career, first for feature films, then for television. Among his television credits are numerous episodes of the cult series Star Trek (1966).
