FAQ

She-Wolf of London

FAQ

Phyllis Allenby (June Lockhart), sole hieress to the Allenby estate and soon to be married to barrister Barry Lanfield (Don Porter), calls off the wedding when she finds evidence suggesting that she is responsible for a series of grisly murders in a nearby park in which all of the victims have savagely had their throats ripped out. Phyllis' aunt Martha (Sara Haden) and cousin Carol (Jan Wiley) fear that she may be under the influence of the Allenby Curse, which claims that family members can take the shape of a werewolf. However, Barry does not buy it and decides to do a little investigating on his own.

She-Wolf of London was filmed from a screenplay written by American screenwriter George Bricke.

While Carol goes for the police, Martha brings Phyllis a glass of warm milk. After drinking the milk, Phyllis realizes that she's been drugged. Martha then pulls out a knife and tells Phyllis that she's going to kill her and make it look like suicide so that no investigation will be necessary. Martha further admits to killing the boy in the park as well as Detective Latham (Lloyd Corrigan). Hannah (Eily Malyon), who has been listening outside the bedroom door, confronts Martha and says that she's going for the police. When Hannah runs down to the front door, Martha follows and trips on the stairs, falling on her knife. Just then, Barry, Carol, Dwight (Martin Kosleck), and Inspector Pierce (Dennis Hoey) come rushing in. Hannah tells them that Martha is the 'she-wolf.' In the final scene, Barry goes upstairs to Phyllis' room. 'She's going to kill me,' Phyllis says. 'No, dear,' Barry assures her, 'she'll never kill anyone else.'
