Lenore Aubert and John Loder in The Wife of Monte Cristo (1946)

Trivia

The Wife of Monte Cristo

Edit
For her dueling scenes, Lenore Aubert was coached by Ralph Faulkner, saber and epee Olympic Champion of 1928 and 1932.
Lenore Aubert did all of her own stunts in this movie including horse back riding and sword and saber fencing.
Originally Hedy Lamarr was signed to play the title role on a loan out from M.G.M. so that PRC could cash in on the publicity of the engagement of Hedy Lamarr to the movie's leading man, John Loder. However, as luck would have it, due to film scheduling running overtime for Lamarr at her home studio of Metro she couldn't meet her loan out obligation to Edgar G. Ulmer and she recommended her best friend, Lenore Aubert, for the leading role and that's how Aubert got the part.
This film's earliest documented telecasts took place in Chicago Sunday 19 March 1950 on WNBQ (Channel 5), in New York City Wednesday 28 June 1950 on WATV (Channel 13), and in Los Angeles Wednesday 29 November 1950 on KTLA (Channel 5).
