- Mrs. Richards: The Potters are one of New York's oldest families. They came over with the Indians, or turkeys, or something.
- Connie: You mean the pilgrims.
- Ben Richards: She means the turkeys.
- Connie: Father, c'mon. Mother's going crazy.
- Ben Richards: So, to tell me something I've known for 25 years, you make me lose the game.
- Mrs. Richards: [the chauffeur brings in a basket with two tiny dogs in it] Oh, my poor darlings. You will stop the car occasionally, won't you, and let them run about for a bit?
- Richards' Chauffeur: Oh, yes, madam.
- Mrs. Richards: That's what Brooks does with me on these long trips and it helps me so tremendously.
- Ben Richards: What's the matter now?
- Mrs. Richards: Margaret's acting up again.
- Ben Richards: Well, no matter what it is, I'm on Maggie's side.
- Margaret Richards: You can all stand here and yell if you want to, but I'm not going to Newport.
- Ben Richards: And... that... goes... for me... too.
- [as he briskly follows Maggie out]
- Margaret Richards: May I have your hat sir?
- Bill Davis: Yeah. Say, take it easy, its the only one I got.
- Margaret Richards: I'll put it in the safe.
- Mrs. Richards: My dear girl, you're losing your senses. You know perfectly well there isn't a living, breathing soul in New York in the summer time.
