The costumes worn by Sally Eilers as "Sister Connie" resembled those worn by Aimee Semple McPherson, also known as Sister Aimee, a well-known evangelist at the time.
In the course of the film, the crooks shoot a color film of the gem necklace to help them make a duplicate. When it's developed, they screen it, but we see nothing but a scratchy leader in the subjective shot. The crooks seem to be satisfied with what they've seen indicating we too should've seen something, like a color insert of the necklace. The current print screened on TCM is probably the only one there is, a secondary quality print from the "C&C Television" days, which of course would not accommodate a color insert.
The $100,000 for the necklace would equate to over $1.8M in 2020.
