Trivia

The Adventures of Jane Arden

Edit
The only film based on the long-running comic strip "Jane Arden", the original "spunky girl reporter", that was published from November 26, 1928 to January 20, 1968. The character served as a prototype for others such as Superman's Lois Lane, Frederick Nebel's "Torchy Blane", and another comic strip "Brenda Starr, Reporter", that ran from 1940 to 2011. There was also a "Jane Arden" radio program - a 15 minute weekday show on the NBC Blue Network from 1938 to 1939.
The flying boat, or seaplane, depicted as flying Ed to Bermuda is a rare Sikorsky S-42. Introduced in 1934, only 10 were made - all for Pan American Airways. All were lost or scrapped by 1946 - none remain.
The $10,000 offered for the pearls equates to about $217,000 in 2023.
This film's earliest documented telecast took place in Tucson Wednesday 29 August 1956 on KDWI (Channel 9); it first aired in Indianapolis Thursday 4 October 1956 on WISH (Channel 8), in Bellingham WA Sunday 9 December 1956 on WVOS (Channel 12), in Albuquerque Saturday 29 December 1956 on KOB (Channel 4), in Sacramento CA Sunday 20 January 1957 on KBET (Channel 10), and in Honolulu Wednesday 26 June 1957 on KHVH (Channel 13), and in Lubbock TX Wednesday 25 September 1957 on KDUB (Channel 13).
