Some DVD releases of this have a title card for it as "Drums of Africa".
Footage of the City of the Dead appears to show Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
The only time Buster Crabbe and Charles Middleton worked together while not respectively playing Flash Gordon and Ming the Merciless, the roles they had previously played in three successive multi-chapter adventure serials: Flash Gordon (1936), Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars (1938) and Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe (1940).
The earliest documented telecasts of this film took place in New York City 19 July 1948 on WCBS (Channel 2), in Cincinnati Sunday 7 November 1948 on WLW-T (Channel 4), in Washington DC 15 March 1949 on WMAL (Channel 7), in Albuquerque 23 July 1949 on KOB (Channel 4), in Atlanta 18 September 1949 on WAGA (Channel 5), and in Los Angeles 22 September 1950 on KFI (Channel 9).
