Lew Ayres and Ann Sothern in Maisie Was a Lady (1941)

Trivia

Maisie Was a Lady

Edit
In the opening scene at the carnival, the carnival barker at the Freak Show is the actor Joe Yule. He is the father of Mickey Rooney.
When Maisie bursts into Bob's room to find him playing with a toy airplane, he is holding a model of a real, famous aircraft - a Keith Rider R-3, registration NR14215. It was a one-off racing plane built in 1934. The model he is holding can be seen in the MGM film Test Pilot (1938).
The fourth of ten movies released by MGM from 1939 to 1947 starring Ann Sothern as the heroine Maisie Ravier.
The estate is located in Bellport, NY on Long Island.
In the scene where Maisie (Ann Sothern) and Bob (Lew Ayres) are leaving the courthouse, the back of Robert Benchley can be seen as he runs up the steps and enters the courthouse.
