The locomotive used is Virginia and Truckee 22, Inyo. It still runs at the Nevada Railroad museum.
Although a card at the beginning thanks Nevada for providing "authentic data" (implying that it was used as a location), the entire picture was in fact shot in the usual Southern California locations, including Iverson's Ranch and Bronson Canyon.
First leading role for Lucille Norman. She would also play the lead in her next film, Sweethearts on Parade (1953). She retired from Hollywood in 1955 after five full-length movies, two short films and three TV appearances in 13 years.
