Badmen hide behind badges

When an idealistic young man comes to Montana territory to start a new life, he becomes a deputy sheriff. He wants to clean up the area which is infested with killers and thieves, but is duped into aiding those very men. Good action yarn with lots of blazing sixguns, stagecoach chases, and thundering hooves.

Colorful B gem

Colorful surprise this little western from a western specialist, not Lesley Selander, but the prolofic Ray Nazzaro. The lead character, some kind of naive nearly tenderfoot actor who can remind a poor man's Audie Murphy because of the character, not the face resemblance, is a bit annoying, and Preston Foster as a sheriff, and actually a gang leader, can remind the same Preston Foster in a nearly close character in KANSAS CITY CONFIDENTIAL, where, as the mastermind, he also had a sidekick, a goon, played by Jack Elam, as here. Speaking of Audie Murphy, you have here Wanda Hendrix, the wife of the real Murphy in life, but not for long. Yes, a cool little feature, very cute to discover.

Montana vigilante

John Malvin , prospecting the Montana territory during the gold rush, sees bandits kill a miner and his son. He eludes the outlaws by hiding near a stagecoach relay station run by "Possum" Enoch and his daughter Clair, with whom John Falls in love with. Sheriff Henry Plummer, secret head of the outlaws, learns John witnessed the killings and sends him as his deputy on a dangerous mission with a planned ambush.

A nifty b-western directed by Ray Nazarro finds Lon McCallister witnessing a murder of a prospector and his son. He later ends up becoming a deputy for Preston Foster. Foster plays the crooked sheriff convincingly. Lon McCallister plays the kind of role Audie Murphy would play - a tenderfoot who naively accepts everything at face value. It's a fast-paced, action packed western that is well made and entertaining. Wanda Hendrix is very good as the feisty daughter of a relay station owner. She knows Foster is crooked and ends up forming a vigilante group.
