In this film the instrumental music for "jane kahan gaye woh din" is used, although the actual movie in which that tune was used on a song came out in 1970 in Mera Naam Joker.
film originally had a sad ending and Raj Kapoor was to die in the climax after Nargis marries Pran and her wedding procession passes from his house.During the premiere Raj Kapoor felt that the climax wont work and decided to change it.
Muje Se Doosti Karoge 2002 also had a similar story where Hrithik Roshan mistakes mails of Rani Mukherjee to be written by her good friend Kareena Kapoor and fall sin love with her.Kareena Kapoor is also granddaughter of Raj Kapoor.
Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat become such popular song that it was played in background in many Hindi films during wedding scenes.Rani Mukherjee's debut film was also titled Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat 1997.
Film was inspired from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's famous novel Devdas.
