The two young children caught staying up late by Bridges and Lister are played by the actual children of actress Helene Cordet who plays the part of the singer, Helene Castle.
The onscreen stage magician in the theatre-set sequences in the film is played by Robert Harbin, who was actually the first man seen to practice magic tricks on British TV in the late 1930s and who became a regular post-war TV fixture with a number of "big prop" illusions of his own invention. He also introduced the word "origami" into the English language, and became a much-published expert on the subject.
