The Love Lottery (1954)

Trivia

The Love Lottery

Edit
In the film David Niven's character is starring in near the beginning of the film, a clapperboard shows the names Chas. Crichton, D. Slocombe and Jeff Seaholme.

These are the names of the actual director of The Love Lottery - Charles Crichton, Cinematographer - Douglas Slocombe and Camera Operator - Jeff Seaholme.
About ten minutes in, Rex Allerton (D.Niven) is seen filming a scene of a costume drama. The director calls "Cut!" and the view pulls back to reveal a large camera pointing at the stage. This is the famous three-strip Technicolor camera in its enormous blue-painted sync sound blimp. This is interesting since The Love Lottery was shot in three-strip.
Rex makes the comment when arriving in Tremaggio "I must have got it from Baedekers". This is a reference to the series of guide books published by the German publisher, Verlag Karl Baedeker. These guides were famous and used extensively in Europe.
In the opening dream sequence trumpets sound, poking out from behind a curtain. One of the trumpets was evidently played by a smoker as smoke is seen coming from it.
