This was the first of three cartoons on economic subjects underwritten by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. It was followed by Heir-Conditioned (1955) and Yankee Dood It (1956).
The only Friz Freleng short where Ben Washam was an animator; he normally worked in the Chuck Jones unit.
One of the first cartoons put into production after the 1953 shutdown of Warner Bros.'s cartoon unit.
Ted Bonnicksen, who is credited here as an animator, was initially in Friz Freleng's unit after Warner Bros.'s cartoon division reopened in January 1954; he only animated on nine Freleng cartoons before transferring to Robert McKimson's unit. He would remain there until the cartoon division's closure in 1963.
The music heard over the title cards is an original composition by Milt Franklyn. It would later be re-used as the title cards for Feather Dusted (1955) and Tweety and the Beanstalk (1957).
