Grace Kelly, Stewart Granger, and Paul Douglas in Green Fire (1954)

Trivia

Green Fire

Edit
Production ran behind for Green Fire (1954) and Grace Kelly worried that she wouldn't finish in time to film her next movie To Catch a Thief (1955). Co-star Stewart Granger threatened to "get sick" and create costly production delays unless the production manager changed to schedule to film Grace's scene in time. Grace was, "Thankful and thrilled."
Only four months before meeting Prince Rainier of Monaco and less than 18 months prior to their wedding, Grace Kelly's character delivers this quote: "Well, there's always the chance that Prince Charming may come riding down off the mountain someday."
As a variety of the mineral beryl, the emerald is a gemstone that is colored green and contains trace amounts of chromium and vanadium. Its name derives from the ancient Greek word "smaragdos" which means "green gem." Although mined since 1500 BC in ancient Egypt, the largest producer of emeralds is Colombia with 50-95% of the world production.
Grace Kelly appeared in ads for Max Factor Colorfast Lipstick with co-star Stewart Granger.
Ava Gardner was originally cast as Catherine Knowland. Ava Gardner and Grace Kelly starred in Mogambo (1953) together.
